How do I get involved with the Homeowners’ Association?
Simply attend the Board of Directors’ meetings held at the Police Services building every second Tuesday at 7 PM. Click here to contact our Property Manager for more details.
What is the purpose of a proxy at annual meetings?
Similar to an absentee ballot, a proxy appoints a substitute to attend or act on your behalf at the annual meeting should you be unable to attend. The property owner must sign the proxy and submit it to the HOA manager prior to the meeting. Proxies help establish the minimum 30 percent quorum required to conduct an annual meeting of members (property owners). Without a quorum (at least 172 members), no homeowner business is valid.
Can anything be done about cars parked on the street?
The city of Apopka owns and maintains our streets. With few exceptions, parking in the street is allowed by the City of Apopka. One prohibition: blocking the sidewalk while parked in your driveway. Parking commercial trucks at your residence is forbidden and can result in a ticket. For additional information or to report violations, you may call the Apopka Police Department’s non-emergency number at 407-703-1771.
Who can I call if a streetlight is burned out?
You can call Progress Energy at 1-800-228-8485, or click here to report online. You’ll need the information on the pole’s numbered plaque and a nearby intersection.
Why is our community not gated?
Not only would gates require nearly doubling your quarterly maintenance fees to defray the cost of installing and maintaining three entrance gates, the Homeowners Association would need to assume all costs for road repairs and maintenance within gated areas.
Why don’t we install speed-bumps to slow down cars?
The city of Apopka, which owns and maintains the streets, has declined our request to install them.
How do I go about painting my house?
You must submit your request to the Architectural Review Board, which approves all exterior colors. (Click here for the request form). The Board also green lights any improvements to the exterior of the home and major landscaping changes.
